Hundreds of goblins, witches, princesses, frogs, a Minnie Mouse, and more gathered for great fun and a good cause this past Saturday at the 3rd Annual Healthy Goblin Bash at UNOH Event Center. The Bash, created by Lima Dental Associates, was a free event open to children under 12 in the community, and featured Sparkle! The Lima Dental tooth fairy, their signature Jack-O-Lantern pizza, arts and crafts, games, a costume contest and parade, along with a $5,000 donation to the West Ohio Food Bank from Lima Dental. Voluntary cash donations from parents for the Food Bank were also accepted on-site, as well as non-perishable food items.

“The parents and kids really seem to enjoy our Bash every year. And, frankly, we enjoy all the planning and hosting,” said Dr. Erik Risolvato, DDS, General Dentist. “It’s a chance to remind kids that they can have Halloween fun that is healthy. Adding the benefit for the food bank has made it even more meaningful to Lima Dental.”

We recently asked you on Facebook, “What do you love most about fall in Ohio?” You said you loved “Ohio State Football, all the friendly people, the beautiful trees, homemade chili, apple cider and watching the leaves turn different shades.” We couldn’t agree more.

That’s why we shared our football tickets with “all the friendly people” – our friends. Over the past 6 weeks, we shared 12 Buckeyes football tickets with our buddies on Facebook.

Many more of our pals won weekly gifts cards to Lima’s premier local celebration venue, Westgate Entertainment Center. Two friends were surprised with random giveaways including a “Smile Package,” with a dental hygiene visit and x-rays (over a $400 value) and an iPod Shuffle.

The weekly giveaways were really fun for our staff and Facebook friends, but we we were all especially excited about the Say o-Hi-o with a Smile Sweepstakes Grand Prize. On Wednesday, October 12, Chastity Butterfield won 2 tickets to the OSU Homecoming Game with a catered tailgating picnic from Westgate Entertainment Center and a Zoom Whitening. Chastity, Project Manager at Thin and Healthy Total Solution, our neighbor, is also a patient.

Lima, Ohio – August 3, 2011 – Lima Dental Associates and Dr. Stephen Roush, D.D.S. announced today that the two dental practices have merged and will operate under the Lima Dental Associates name. With the merger, the Lima Dental Associates practice now has five staff dentists and 27 employees to serve dental patients in Western Ohio.

January 25, 2011 – Lima, Ohio – The West Ohio Food Bank has received a $10,000 gift from Lima Dental Associates, which will enable the non-profit agency to help to provide as many as 70,000 meals for West Central Ohio citizens who need it most. The donation has been made in honor of National Service Day, which was celebrated on January 17, 2011.

“We are humbled by the food bank’s need and their incredible work and outreach,” said Erik Risolvato, D.D.S. “Hunger in our own backyard is a tragic problem that affects the overall health, professional and educational performance of its’ victims and even the oral health and wellness of those who suffer from it,” he added.

Bambi Markham, executive director of the West Ohio Bank received the surprise donation from Lima Dental Associates just before year-end 2010. ” We are especially grateful for the cash contribution since our purchasing power as a chapter of Feeding America allows us to leverage the contribution into even greater impact than actual canned goods, for instance,” said Markham. “Lima Dental Associates has graciously made the donation to be used at our discretion, some of which may go to general capacity funding, enabling us to further our mission of finding, rescuing and distributing food to hungry people in the eleven counties we serve.”

The West Ohio Food Bank contribution is one component of Lima Dental Associates’ community outreach initiative. The Lima Dental Kids’ Club and its’ free community events, along with other local support including the Lima YMCA and the Equestrian Therapy Program at Fassett Farm are only a few of the non-profits supported by the Lima Dental CareShare program.
